(Spanish National Research Council (CSIC)) A study led by researchers of the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC) and published in the journal Nature Neuroscience has identified a new therapeutic target for the treatment of Alzheimer's disease. The results of the work reveal that, in human samples from Alzheimer's patients, the levels of the protein SFRP1 are abnormally elevated and continue to increase with the progress of the disease.
